Holiday Home in Orlando, Florida

When our children were young, we spent many happy holidays in the Orlando area.
One aspect of holidaying in Florida that we quickly learnt, was the advantage of renting our own home, rather than the use of a hotel room. There is nothing than can compare with the freedom to come and go as you please, and relax in the privacy of your own home.
Our home in Terra Verde contains 4 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. One double bedroom with bathroom is located on the ground floor, with one additional double with en-suite bathroom and two twin rooms sharing a bathroom, on the first floor.      view floor plan

The private, screened pool is 11 x 22 and can be heated if required.  Notice of use of the pool heater is preferred, but not essential, but it does take a little while for the heater to become effective.
Our home backs onto a lake that is central to the resort and the lake is stocked with fish. We will even supply you with fishing rods, so when you have been "Disney'd out", you can relax with a bit of fishing ( before the resident wild life beat you to it !!).

For car hire, we have always found both Alamo and Dollar perfectly satisfactory, and on recent trips, we have booked through Uscarhire.com, who have proved competitive.
We have also used park-tickets.com for theme park and other attraction tickets and they have proved efficient.

For flights from the UK, both BA and Virgin fly direct and we usually check prices with both ebookers and lastminute.com. There are many charter flights from Gatwick, Manchester etc., but we have found that they are often less comfortable than the national carriers.
The American carriers can be a bit cheaper, but you will usually have to fly via their own hub, elsewhere in the States and the overall journey time can be correspondingly, longer.

  • For theme park tickets, there is no shortage of discount outlets. It is worth checking with the reception desk at Terra Verde, who are able to offer a range of discount prices on most parks, attractions and dinner shows.
If you are looking locally for cut price deals for park tickets, beware (look out ) for the "linked" Time Share presentation "deals" - unless of course, you are in the market for a Time Share deal.
Also, be aware of offers on "part used" tickets (including those on ebay). Disney is now linking individual tickets to guests through a system of finger scanning / measurement (taken at the time of initial park entry). So if a multi-day ticket has been part used, there is a strong possibility that the ticket is already linked to someone's "finger" !!.
